Play a Part | Stafford Gatehouse Theatre

UPDATE: it was with very great sadness that we took the unprecedented decision to close our doors last week but the health and safety of our staff and audience is and always will be at the heart of everything that we do.

The situation we find ourselves in is the most challenging we have ever faced and was totally unimaginable just a few short weeks ago. There is no doubt that we will weather this awful storm but we may look very different on the other side.

The one thing that we are now presented with is time, time to plan for the day when our doors are opened and we can welcome you back with open arms. We are a creative and passionate bunch and we will in the short term look to do more for a community who will be emerging from social isolation. This will be our time to take care of you all, to provide a safe and welcoming environment for you to reconnect and learn how to be with each other again. Audiences will need the escapism and inspiration that we can provide more than ever before and we will be there for you.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has chosen to donate the value of their tickets and supported us with organic donations during this time. Your kindness and generosity is both overwhelming and also very welcome! The impact of this period of closure on our business has been catastrophic and for perhaps a number of months the donations that we receive will be our only source of income. Should you wish to make a donation to the theatre, you can do so here: http://staffordgatehousetheatre.co.uk/donations/

Finally, we would also like to thank our incredible and resilient staff, never before has their love and passion for our theatre been more obvious.

So Stafford: stay safe, stay strong, stay connected.

The show will go (back) on!

With love,

The Gatehouse
